The Local FAST Fund mission: To provide Milwaukee Area Technical College students experiencing economic emergencies with rapid financial support and to promote public and MATC policies on issues impacting MATC students so they remain enrolled and achieve academic success.

We recognize the dedication of MATC educators' support for their students. Fast Fund at MATC has created a collection of resources for eduators to share with students to assist their efforts of supporting students on their educational journey.
Our Impact
Last year alone, we allocated $612,245 for:
501 students to secure housing,
183 utility bills,
504 previous MATC student balances,
230 repaired vehicles,
662 provided laptops,
134 exam + book fees covered,
25 ESL students registered,
and over $80,000 leveraged to other organizations!​
Last year the FAST Fund assisted: 2,451 students, another 47% increase over the previous year’s 1668!
The FAST Fund is run mostly by a volunteer staff of MATC retirees. We employ one full-time Executive Director and have 4 part-time staff members. We are much more than just our staff: our student volunteers, fellows, past MATC faculty, community partners, and so many others keep us alive. All of our support is funded through tax-deductible voluntary donations!
